HCP Injector Case Study

The Challenge

ERS was asked to help a client provide expert-led training on proper injection techniques for dermal fillers and neurotoxins. Our client needed to create a clinically optimal setting in which their principal investigator could demonstrate injection techniques and provide tips to an audience in order to support key product attributes. The principal investigator had limited space in his clinic to accommodate the large group and the type of hands-on education needed.

The ERS Solution

We transformed unused space in the principal investigator’s office building into a full-service meeting space for participants and established a 2-way video-linked transmission between the investigator’s patient treatment room and the meeting space. ERS’ account and technology teams produced a live, interactive injection session in which the investigator could demonstrate injection techniques using integrated, multiple camera feeds (aerial and side profile) with a real patient and answer audience questions throughout the demonstration. This enabled leading KOLs to moderate and direct attendees on the preferred injection techniques through hands-on clinical experience with appropriate patient types. Faculty moderators were also able to respond to real-time questions from attendees during the procedure. This approach allowed attending HCPs the practice experience in preferred injection techniques.

The Result

ERS was able to ensure that newly trained cosmetic surgeons and dermatologists had practical experience in injecting patients with our client’s dermal fillers and neurotoxins. As an added value, ERS was able to amortize the training footage to create an injection training video which was used in later trainings, extending the impact of this initial training beyond the physicians attending the seminar. After using this approach with the original 100 attendees, this has become a standard practice for our client. This method can be utilized in a variety of meetings such as advisory boards and Train-the-Trainer events.
